Transitioning is not just for creative writing. Transitioning is becoming more prevalent than ever and it is officially a MOVEMENT! This movement involves women of various races and ethnic backgrounds gradually decreasing their usage of chemical processing and treatments. So, if you are a making a transition, this post is just for you.

Weathered Branches

Exactly what is a weathered branch? A weathered branch is an extension of a tree that has been battered and scarred by the environment. Harsh winds, treacherous thunderstorms- you name it, they have experienced it. But because of divine intervention, they did not fall from their origin.

Ethnic women who have been tortured by their peers because of their unique curl pattern have weathered the storm. These weathered branches have hung on for dear life to that tree of hope hoping to withstand the unjust lies about their natural hair. But some are not so lucky. Some succumb to ridicule and are tossed about in a chemical whirlwind that consistently snatches their breath to the point that they search for an escape- a place of RELAXATION. And then the BIG CHOP! No, not back to square one but back to their roots.

There is a curse among us. It possesses curls of any kind. Some dismiss the myth but I consider it pure EVIL.
